prop H8

Posted by andromeda on June 2nd, 2009 filed in outrage, politics

so, as you may have heard by now, the California Supreme Court upheld Prop H8.  the only upside is that all the couples who married before the ruling still have valid marriages.  still not very fair, but it is a (albiet) very small start.

but in spite of all the bullshit, an interesting thing is happening.  the younger, pre-voting age teens don’t get what the big deal is about gay marriage.  (i have to admit though, i have never gotten why anyone would get their panties in a bunch about who marries who)  an online friend posted this article that really sums things up on this front. enjoy.

as for me, i will continue to fight for equality for all people, even if it is just teaching my children that who someone else wants to marry makes no difference to them.

just like we grew up not seeing color, our kids won’t be aware of sexual orientation.

    a better world will ensue.
