meet Harvey

this is Harvey.

Harvey has taken up residence in my husband’s F150.  everyday, i wreck his web.  every night he rebuilds it.  he has hung on to his home through trips around town as well as on the highway.

he spins a beautiful web.  Harvey is the kind of spider that my folks call a “Frank Lloyd Spider” due to the intricate and concentric webs he builds.  the webs are huge, spanning about 2 feet across some days.

The Dictator and i have a daily morning ritual of going outside and saying good morning to Harvey.  he is always there, despite many opportunities to jump ship to a better home.  he must be a Ford guy.

we have a few of these kind of spiders around our property.  he is just like the one the husband found last week in our back yard.  although i have discovered that the one from last week is a loner and doesn’t like to be noticed.  that one is always packing up and moving as soon as i spot the web and say hi.  weirdo.

anyway, Harvey is a chill dude.  we like having him around.
